State Bank of India has released the official notification for the recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO) for the year 2026. This recruitment drive offers a great opportunity for graduates who are looking to start their career in the banking sector. As per the notification, a total of 1500 Probationary Officer vacancies have been announced. The online application process has started from 18 June 2026 and interested candidates can submit their applications till 08 July 2026. Vacancy Details

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Graduation Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.

Candidates who are in the final year or final semester of graduation can also apply provisionally. However, they must produce proof of passing graduation on or before 30 September 2026.

Candidates having qualifications such as Engineering, Medical, Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant and other equivalent qualifications are also eligible.

Age Limit

The age limit will be calculated as on 01 April 2026.

• Minimum Age: 21 Years
• Maximum Age: 30 Years

Candidates must have been born between 02 April 1996 and 01 April 2005 (both dates inclusive).

SBI PO Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The selection process consists of the following stages:

1. Preliminary Examination
2. Main Examination
3. Psychometric Test
4. Group Exercise
5. Personal Interview
6. Document Verification
7. Medical Examination

Candidates must qualify each stage to move to the next phase of the recruitment process.

For final selection, marks obtained in Main Examination and Interview/Group Exercise will be considered. Preliminary Examination marks will not be included in the final merit list.

• No sectional cut-off in Preliminary Exam.

Selected candidates will receive a starting basic pay of Rs. 48,480/- along with four advance increments. The pay scale is:
